CARC’s newest Community Home hosted an Open House for friends and neighbors in early August. Recently renovated, Wedgewood is home to five individuals with developmental disabilities. The event provided an opportunity for the residents to meet and greet their new neighbors and show them around their home. “The residents of Wedgewood were very excited to meet and interact with the neighbors and give them a tour,” said Jessica Stewart, CARC’s Residential Director.

Residents from CARC’s other community homes attended to show their support. Lake Charles Mayor Randy Roach was also in attendance. Everyone had a great time as new and familiar faces gathered together to be acquainted and share a delicious meal prepared by the staff at Wedgewood.

Executive Director Libby Leone said, “Our neighbors who attended the Open House were sincere in expressing a warm welcome to the neighborhood” and she along with the residents, is very appreciative of their kindness and support.
